  • Divorce - In New Jersey, there are no-fault grounds for divorce (irreconcilable differences and an 18-month separation) as well as fault grounds for divorce (cruelty, adultery, domestic abuse, etc.). The divorce attorneys at our firm are skilled at helping clients through the often complex process of dissolving a marriage.
  • Obtaining the Divorce - We guide clients through all phases of the divorce process in New Jersey: from filing or responding to the initial divorce complaint to resolving issues of custody, support and property division through mediation, negotiation or trial to entering a final divorce decree to moving for a modification of custody or support following a divorce.
  • Alimony (spousal support) - In New Jersey, the court considers many factors in determining whether an award of alimony is warranted in a divorce, including: both parties' incomes, the length of the marriage, the standard of living during the marriage, the property awarded each spouse in the divorce, and whether one spouse is economically disadvantaged because of the marriage or child rearing duties. Alimony is more likely to be awarded in a long term marriage and when one spouse has not been employed outside the home for a long period of time. We represent spouses in disputes over alimony, including whether alimony should be awarded at all, the type of alimony, the amount of alimony, and the length of time alimony should be paid.
